Craft Camp 2024 is dedicated to Muhu island and cultural heritage.

Sunday, 7 July

16:30 Bus departing from Tallinn Harbour Passenger Terminal D to Viljandi
approx 17:00 Bus departing from Tallinn airport to Viljandi 
19 Arrival to Viljandi, drop-off luggage at the hotels
19-20 Registration to the camp (Grand Hotel Viljandi, Tartu 11)
20-21:30 Dinner and welcoming evening (Grand Hotel Viljandi restaurant EVE)

Monday, 8 July

A guide is introducing Viljandi city to tourists.

9-10 Vilma building tour for those interested, renting coffee mugs (Turu 7)
10-12 Workshop 1st part (includes coffee break)
All participants will receive a personal timetable before the camp.
12-14 Lunch in the city
14-18 Workshop 2nd part (includes coffee break)
18-20 Dinner in the city
20-21:30 Guided tour in Viljandi city centre (starting in front of Grand Hotel Viljandi, guide Marika Kivistik)

Tuesday, 9 July

9-9:50 Presentation of Muhu women's folk costumes (Alliki Oidekivi; at Posti 1)
Alliki will introduce 3 different sets of Muhu women's folk costumes from different epochs, starting with the beginning of 1880s and finishing with the 1930s.
10-12 Workshop 3rd part (includes coffee break)
12-14 Lunch in the city
14-18 Workshop 4th part (includes coffee break)
18-19 Craft Fair (Vilma courtyard and log chamber)
19-21 Dinner in the city
20:00 Free time / Craft Cafe at MULKS (Tartu 7c)

Field trip day: buses leave from the parking area behind Sakala Centre and Viljandi Department Store. Mulgimaa trip begins at Viljandi Museum. Please find the departure time from your personal timetable.

The destinations are:

  • Mulgimaa in South Estonia;
  • Soomaa in Central Estonia;
  • Tõstamaa in South West Estonia;
  • Võromaa in South East Estonia.

Lunch and two coffee breaks will be arranged as a part each field trip.

10-12 Workshop 1st part (includes coffee break)
12-14 Lunch in the city

20-21:30 Film `Smoke Sauna Sisterhood` (Turu 7)

Friday, 12 July

11-12 Free time, packing luggage, loading luggage to the bus
12-12:50 Final lunch (at Grand Hotel Viljandi restaurant EVE)
13:00 Departure to Tallinn by bus from Grand Hotel (arrival at the airport approx. 15:00, harbour approx. 15:30)


All participants must choose three different workshops that are carried out during the camp. Individual timetables will be given after registration. Please see the workshop options here.

The registration to the camp includes 2 steps - in step 1 you need to insert your personal contact etc information, step 2 is about the workshops and practical information related to the camp. These two registration steps are located on different sites - please be sure to fill in both of them! Find registration related information here.

The organisers reserve the right to make changes in the programme. Locations will be specified with the participants of the camp.
