At the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy you may study as an exchange student or a degree-seeking student at bachelor's or master's level.

We are offering two English-taught master's programmes:

Sound and Visual Technology

The English-taught curriculum in Sound and Visual Technology is a unique international curriculum in Estonia and Europe, where one can acquire knowledge and skills in both sound and visual technology. The students can choose to study either sound technology or visual technology, but an able student can complete both modules. Alongside acquiring technical skills, the curriculum also supports students' creativity and bold ideas, and the knowledge acquired in many courses is translated into practical results. Read more...

Folkloristics and Applied Heritage Studies (coordinated by the Institute of Cultural Research)

The international curriculum taught by the University of Tartu Institute of Cultural Studies and Viljandi Culture Academy provides students with the knowledge and skills for critical thinking and constructive action in the broad field of cultural heritage. At the same time, they will learn to recognise the processes involved in creating tangible and intangible cultural heritage and deal responsibly with its socio-cultural and economic potential.
