The fashion contest "OmaMood" set high scores and shifted the boundaries of tradition

12 designers where chosen to participate in the fashion show OmaMood organized by Estonian Fashion Festival (EFF) and Viljandi Culture Academy.

The designers' new approaches to local textile and handicrafts attracted attention, with the use of modern technologies. Amongs the disainer were also representatives of Viljandi Culture Academy and Estonian Art Academy.
The following designers and their collections were selected for the selection of the jury: Anneli Oru, "The History of Steps", Anu Sirkas "FUTUKNITS", Cärol Ott "MÖLÜ", Hannes Rüütel "OIU", Kairi Getman "Getseye", Karolin Kärm "Näkimadalad", Kertu Rockman "Gemma", Kristina Libe and Monika Hint "White Form", Mairo Monitoring "VABADIK", Piret Albert and Taive Peedosaar "Less is More! - July ", Piret Tiismaa" Spirit Flowers ", Vilve Unt" Nature Patterns ".
Ave Matsin, chairman of the OmaMood jury, Head of the Department of National Crafts at Viljandi Culture Academy, gave her first impressions: "I was happy to see the remarkable interest for the fashion competition, that values traditional handicrafts." Accoding to Matsin, OmaMood was the most popular competition from all the Estonian Fashion Festival competitions. It offered many various ideas, which will increase the motivation to develop the field further on.
The 12 collection will be presented at the fashion show, which will take place for the seventh time and this year on the 7th of June 2019 at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu. OmaMood takes place in the fashion week organized by EFF from the 6th to the 9th of June 2019
