The academy will host Izumi Ashizawa's master class and lecture

On the 21st of November, Izumi Ashizawa's master class for theatre and dance students will take place in Ugala theatre.
 
Izumi Ashizawa is a Japanese director, dramatist, actor, dancer and choreographer and a lecturer in the New York Stony Brook University. Ashizawa is telling stories through physical self-expression, dolls and items. Her movement technique is based on a Japanese physical performing arts movement.
 
In addition to Japan, Ashizawa's work has been played in many other countries, among them USA, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Iran, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania and many others. In January 2018 his performance based on Japanese aesthetics and philosophy, called "Small goddess" was brought to the stage in Tallinn by Izumi Ashizawa Performance, Estonian Drama theatre, Estonian Music- and Theatre Academy.
 
The master class will be held from 11-16 in Ugala small hall and after that, a public lecture will follow from 16-17. The lecture will be held in English and the entrance is free.
 
The master class and lecture is organised by the Japanese Embassy in Estonia, in collaboration with the Tallinn University and the University of Tartu.
