University of Tartu Viljandi Culture academy students and our lecturer Mr. Sergei Drõgin had the honour and opportunity to participate in a youth exchange project in Yalova, Turkey
The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project named The World Needs Big Dreamers, prepared by Communicative Youth, supported by the European Union and the Turkish National Agency, was held between March 3 – 9 in Yalova Teacher's House in Turkey. The aim of the project was to increase students’ motivation and increase young people's entrepreneurial approach. The project was carried out in cooperation with 7 countries (Turkey, Estonia, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Macedonia and Romania) and had 42 young people and youth leaders take part.
The project was focused on increasing the importance and popularity of entrepreneurship studies as well as the the overall motivation of young people. Participants who are aware of the importance of effective non-formal education techniques and entrepreneurship studies have however seen obstacles in front of their entrepreneurial activities. Throughout the meeting the young people worked together to create solutions for overcoming these obstacles. Participants who experienced firsthand those good practices in entrepreneurship studies, took steps to uncover the entrepreneurial spirit and returned to their countries as motivated young future entrepreneurs. Various cultural activities throughout the meeting provided intercultural learning and developed concepts of tolerance and respect. Young people who have received the Youthpass certificate confirming their achievements have realized the importance of intercultural learning by getting to know about different cultures, especially Turkish culture.
