The Professor of Liberal Arts Kärt Summatavet holds two seminars titled „Inspiration and Innovation. Key to Estonian Oral Tradition and Folk Culture“ on two consecutive Wednesdays, 20 November and 27 November. The seminars are in English and take place 16:15-18:00 at Ülikooli St. 16 room 212 in Tartu.
Kärt Summatavet is a well-known Estonian artist, designer, researcher and innovator who has held seminars and workshops for international participants in Estonia, Finland, UK, China and the Nertherlands.
Summatavet introduces some hidden landscapes of Estonia and explains, how the harsh climate has formed a unique combination of universal human experience and Nordic culture embedded in people’s minds, customs, work ethic and handicraft tradition. The professor also talks about how tradition inspires contemporary lifestyle in order to create innovative solutions for the future.
