Academy's Students and Teachers in Erasmus Intensive Projects

In last one and a half week academy’s students and teachers have been participating in two Erasmus Intensive projects (IP). Simultaneous intensive study weeks have been taken place at Chester University in UK and at Salzburg University of Applied Science in Austria.

Already for third year the academy has taking part of IP “Teachers Intercultural Awareness & Competence” that has been leaded by Chester University. This time the IP took place March 10th- 21st and four students and two lecturers from our Leisure-Time Manager-Teacher programme were participating. As part of the IP programme our lecturers Katrin Nielsen and Aurika Komsaare conducted a workshop of how to use silence in communication where the knowledge of intercultural communication was combined with drama methods.

Chester IP gathered seven partner schools from Europe: the University of Chester as main partner, Vienna University of Teacher Education, Linköping University, University of Malaga, Flensburg University, University of Jyväskylä and University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. This year the IP brought together 28 students and 7 teachers. Find out more about the IP on their Facebook page.

An Intensive Programme (IP) is a short International programme of study which brings together students and teaching staff from different higher education institutions. It aims encouraging efficient and multinational teaching of specialist topics and enables students and teachers to work together in multinational groups to gain new perspectives on the topic being studied. It also allows members of the teaching staff to exchange views on teaching content and new curricula approaches and to test teaching methods in an international classroom environment.
