Eilve Manglus obtained a master’s degree in jewellery art from the Estonian Academy of Arts. Currently, she is working in UT Viljandi Culture Academy as a program manager and lecturer in Estonian Native Metalwork. She is also actively making jewellery and participating in various art projects in her field.

This workshop will introduce basic jewellery making techniques and methods, which are necessary for making silver earrings. Each participant will make self-designed earrings, using techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, stone setting and polishing.

Participants will first draft the design of the earrings and further work will be done with the supervisor who will help and demonstrate techniques according to the project’s needs. By the end of the course, the participants know how to use primary goldsmith’s tools.

Each participant can use the jewellery tools on site and will receive the silver for making a pair of earrings, including some ready-made parts. The basic participation fee includes only a part of the silver, an extra fee of 35€ will be added to the invoice for the participants who choose this workshop. The participants can bring their own silver parts and beads to use in the jewellery.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, but it is necessary to have good manual skills. Participants who have trouble seeing up close must have suitable glasses for themselves at the workshop since the details are very small.
